Indian and Global Retailers
Global Retail
Retailing is a vast and highly regulated industry worldwide. Global retailers find opportunities in emerging markets like China and India, where rising GDP growth, increasing population, higher disposable income, and growing consumer spending are fueling the expansion of the retail sector.
There are two main types of retailing worldwide:
- Physical Retailing: Conducted through brick-and-mortar stores or retail outlets, such as Reliance, Big Bazaar, and V-Mart.
- E-Retailing: Operates online via platforms like Amazon, Snapdeal, and Flipkart.
Both physical and e-retailing complement each other. A strong digital presence boosts in-store sales, while physical stores reinforce brand credibility. When different media and transactional channels work together seamlessly, the brand remains relevant and successful. However, inconsistencies or operational inefficiencies can negatively impact brand performance.
